F e a t h e r d a n c e ! Featherdance stretched, arching her back and pushing her forepaws in front of her until she could feel the muscles under her fur extend satisfyingly. Moving her weight, she leaned on her front legs and reached out each hind leg in turn, feeling them quiver with the temporary tension. She relaxed, shuffling to the edge of her nest and gave her flank a few brisk licks, before getting to her paws and trotting to her herb piles.
Surveying the messy piles of herbs scattered over the floor, ThunderClan's medicine cat sighed, reminded of her last night's scamper to avoid the oncoming storm. She pricked her ears, swiveling her right one backwards, picking up the tap tap of still-falling rain. A thin line of cool air breathed in through the protected opening of the den, making some of the lichen hanging from the cold stone walls shiver in anticipation of leafbare. The scent of the forest licked Featherdance's nostrils, and she glanced over her shoulder with a tinge of nostalgia in remembrance of her days as a warrior.
Shaking her head as if to clear away a foggy dizziness, Featherdance returned to her work. She brushed a paw through a scattered pile of berries, tumbling them gently into a corner. Gently unsheathing a claw, she scraped the oxidized remains of a squashed one off the den floor. She let it slide back smoothly, curved and pointed with a thorn-sharp tip from lack of use. Something must be wrong with me today. the calico she-cat thought absently. Dwelling on things past and decisions made won't help anyone.
Featherdance forced herself to a bitter focus, shuffling leaves, tucking them away, creating a mental list of what she needed to gather before more than just tongues of cold air would penetrate her den. Concentration furrowed her brow, and she didn't hear the soft sound of padding paws until her visitor spoke.

"Featherdance?" Willowstar asked. The she-cat hadn't noticed her yet, and jumped a little. Even Featherdance is disheveled from the storm last night. "Yes?" Featherdance meowed distractedly. "The elders need you. Maplefoot won't stop complaining about his cough. But I'm sure it's nothing." Thunderclan's leader meowed. Featherdance sighed, then went to pick up some leaves from the back of her den. I haven't seen her this upset since she had to give up the life of a warrior. Willowstar couldn't blame her. The smell of herbs tickled her nose in an uncomfortable way, making the she-cat want to run out into the fresh air of the forest. "Featherdance, is everything alright?" Willowstar asked.

Featherdance covered up her surprise, picking her way through the herbs still scattered across the floor and picking up some catmint, a good cure for coughs. The medicine cat almost flinched when Willowstar asked what was wrong. Is it THAT obvious? she thought, worried. "No, I'm fine." Featherdance meowed, making her muscles relax and her jaws talk more slowly. "Just a little skittish from last night, I suppose." Changing the topic, the calico she-cat asked, "Is it just Maplefoot? This is early for greencough, I hope we can hold it off until real leafbare comes."
Inside, Featherdance was fidgeting, unsure of herself and why she so suddenly wished she could go hunting. It'll go away soon. You felt like this every day for a moon after you became a medicine cat, remember? she told herself, trying to make her mental voice sound convincing. Maybe a good night's rest, uninterrupted by storms should do it.
OOC: She isn't really gonna switch back to being a warrior. She's just being weird right now.

OOC: Okey Dokey
Willowstar thought skeptically about Featherdance's reply, but let it pass. "Yes, only Maplefoot. We should be fine if he doesn't spread it." Willowstar meowed. She thought the medicine cat would be relieved. But Featherdance looked just as concerned, her eyes downcast on the herbs. There was something more disheveled about Featherdance than her messy den from the storm. Her pelt was ruffled, whiskers bent. Maybe she's been working too hard. "Here, let me help with the herbs. Which one is for Greencough." Willowstar offered. It was the least she could do. Featherdance handed her some odd smelling leaves, and they headed together towards the Warriors den.

Sunshadow's ears hurt from the coughing of Maplefoot. It had a squeky ending. It was very loud and hard to hear. Sunshadow started to head out to the medicine cat den, but Willowstar and Featherdance came over with the leaves. "Good your hear." Sunshadow welcomed. "Maplefoot has been coughing non-stop. It's driving me insane!" All three cats looked over at Maplefoot, who weezed out another cough. "Please tell me you have your magic herbs to fix it." Featherdance huffed, and walked over to the elders. "Is she okay?" "I don't think so. She doesn't seem like herself." Willowstar replied.

Featherdance trotted over to Maplefoot, her eyes flickering over the elder's tense body. "How do you feel?" the medicine cat asked, beginning to cut the catmint with slices of one extended claw. "Not so good." the elder croaked. "How long have you had this?" the calico she-cat continued, piling the cut herbs in front of Maplefoot's nose. "Lick them up." she added.

~~As Maplefoot~~ Maplefoot moved to lick up the herbs."I've had it for. *Hack* *hack* *Cough!* What is this, bile! Don't you have anything better tasting?" Maplefoot looked at the pile of the rest of the herbs. He did not want to eat that dung. Not in a million years. Even if it was on orders from the medicine cat.

"I'm sorry, Maplefoot." Featherdance meowed apologetically. "But you have to if you want to get better. And that's the best tasting herbs there are that'll work; if you want you can have a piece of fresh-kill to go with it." Come on, just eat it. Featherdance sighed to herself, looking on hopefully as the elder eyed the herbs again. What do you think I'm trying to do, poison you? The tip of her calico tail began to twitch. So much responsibility; it'll be my fault if the stubborn elder doesn't eat them, despite how many times I tell him to. ThunderClan's medicine cat thought, then reprimanded herself for disrespecting elders, a custom hammered hard into her from being raised a clan cat. "Come on, it'll be over soon." Featherdance added, trying to soften her voice some more. She wished she would stop acting up and return to her usual self.
